Christchurch-based artificial intelligence startup Contented has raised $2.5 million in seed funding to accelerate international expansion of its AI-powered platform that converts spoken business conversations into structured documents and workflows. The oversubscribed round was led by Altered Capital, with participation from Icehouse Ventures, Aspire NZ Seed Fund, K1W1, and Shearwater Capital.
Founded by Lucy Pink and Hannah Hardy-Jones, Contented previously bootstrapped its growth to more than 200 customers and approximately $850,000 in annual recurring revenue. The company’s AI platform analyzes meetings, calls, and workshops to generate outputs such as meeting minutes, task lists, risk registers, and draft content.
The new funding will support expansion into the United States and United Kingdom, alongside investment in engineering and marketing teams to scale the company’s AI productivity software globally.
