Meta has announced a series of artificial intelligence–powered features for Facebook, including animated profile pictures, AI photo-restyling tools for Stories and Memories, and animated backgrounds for text posts. The updates use Meta AI to transform static images with motion effects, apply creative visual styles through text prompts or preset themes, and enhance posts with dynamic visual elements.

The company is positioning these AI tools as part of a broader effort to keep Facebook relevant with younger users by delivering more personalized and playful content experiences. Alongside the AI updates, Facebook continues rolling out product changes such as redesigned feeds, group display-name options, and new engagement features intended to modernize the platform’s social experience.
