Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng plans to launch a robotaxi service in partnership with Alibaba’s digital mapping subsidiary Amap, according to Reuters.

The two companies announced Wednesday that Xpeng will deploy three internally developed robotaxi models, with pilot operations expected to begin in 2026. The autonomous vehicles will be integrated into Amap’s ride-hailing platform, which already collaborates with local robotaxi firms such as WeRide and Pony.ai, Reuters reported.

Xpeng also stated via its official Weibo account that it will work with Amap to establish a global robotaxi service network, though it did not specify a launch timeline.

Xpeng is a Chinese smart EV company that designs and manufactures vehicles with proprietary driver-assistance systems and intelligent in-car software. Headquartered in Guangzhou, the company operates across China and the U.S., with production based in Zhaoqing and Guangzhou. Xpeng targets tech-savvy middle-class consumers and aims to expand its global presence as a trusted smart mobility brand, according to the company.
