Salesforce has announced the creation of Missionforce, a new business unit dedicated to applying AI across defense operations in personnel, logistics, and decision-making. The initiative will be led by Kendall Collins, who joined Salesforce in 2023 and serves as chief business officer and chief of staff to CEO Marc Benioff.

Missionforce will combine Salesforce’s cloud and platform expertise with AI to modernize workflows for the U.S. military and federal agencies. The company has long worked with the government, including contracts with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, though financial details are undisclosed.

The launch comes amid a broader push by tech firms into defense-focused AI, with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google recently introducing government-tailored AI platforms.
