OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Go, a new subscription plan in India priced at ₹399 ($4.60) per month, significantly lower than the existing ₹1,999 Plus plan. The rollout includes UPI payment support alongside local currency pricing, expanding accessibility for India’s massive internet user base.

Nick Turley, VP at OpenAI and head of ChatGPT, said the Go plan boosts capacity for messages, image generation, and file uploads by ten times over the free tier while improving memory for more personalized responses.

India, already OpenAI’s second-largest market according to CEO Sam Altman, has driven more than 29 million app downloads in the last 90 days. With ChatGPT Go, OpenAI aims to expand adoption and strengthen its footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing AI markets.
