Meta AI has reached one billion monthly active users across Meta’s suite of apps, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed during the company’s annual shareholder meeting. The figure marks a dramatic leap from the 500 million users reported in September 2024, underscoring Meta’s accelerating presence in the AI assistant landscape.
Zuckerberg said the company’s 2025 focus is to “deepen the experience and make Meta AI the leading personal AI,” highlighting upcoming investments in personalization, voice interaction, and entertainment.
While Meta continues to refine the assistant, Zuckerberg noted that monetization may follow through paid recommendations or a potential subscription model — positioning Meta AI to compete directly with platforms like ChatGPT. The milestone follows the recent launch of Meta’s stand-alone AI app.
