Ainos and ugo Achieve World’s First Installation of AI-Powered Smell Technology in a Humanoid Robot

Ainos, Inc. (Nasdaq: AIMD, AIMDW), a leader in AI-powered scent digitization, has announced the successful integration of its proprietary AI Nose technology into a humanoid robot developed by Japan’s leading service robotics company, ugo, Inc. Completed on April 9, this marks the world’s first deployment of olfactory capabilities in a commercial-grade robot, redefining the boundaries of AI and robotics.

Ainos CEO Chun-Hsien (Eddy) Tsai said the milestone represents a “turning point for AI-powered sensing,” allowing robots to perceive their environments more intuitively. ugo CEO Ken Matsui added that by adding the sense of smell, robots gain a critical missing sensory dimension, enhancing their ability to navigate real-world spaces. Real-world deployment testing is scheduled to begin soon.
