nettle, an AI-powered risk assessment platform for the commercial insurance sector, has raised £1.45 million in pre-seed funding led by Project A, with participation from prominent angels across insurance, AI, and startup ecosystems.

Founded in 2024 by Jack Miller and Katya Lait, nettle uses advanced AI to automate risk evaluation processes, enabling insurers to streamline underwriting and improve operational efficiency. The platform supports remote inspections, mobile-based evidence analysis, and instant report generation.

The new funding will be used to grow nettle’s engineering team and further enhance the platform’s capabilities. Project A, an early-stage investor managing $1 billion in assets, led the round from its London and Berlin offices.
