Tessell, a multi-cloud database-as-a-service startup, has secured $60 million in a Series B funding round led by WestBridge Capital, with participation from B37 Ventures, Rocketship.vc, and existing backer Lightspeed Venture Partners. The new investment will support Tessell’s global expansion and the launch of an AI-powered conversational database management solution.

Founded by Bala Kuchibhotla, a former Oracle and Nutanix executive, Tessell offers a high-performance alternative to legacy systems like Amazon RDS. Its platform delivers up to 10x performance with significant cost savings, supports zero-downtime migrations, and runs across all major clouds. Tessell currently serves 40 enterprise customers and plans to scale across Europe and APAC in 2025.
