Anthropic has announced new updates to its responsible scaling policy, reinforcing safeguards for the deployment of increasingly powerful AI models. In a blog post, the company stated that enhanced security protocols will be triggered if a model shows potential to aid in the development of chemical or biological weapons or could fully automate roles such as entry-level AI research.

Backed by Amazon and recently valued at $61.5 billion, Anthropic emphasized the need for proactive oversight as model capabilities grow. The company reported that it has expanded its executive risk council and in-house security team and is conducting technical surveillance countermeasure sweeps to detect unauthorized devices.

Anthropic’s updated framework reflects growing industry pressure to balance innovation with safety as the generative AI market heads toward a $1 trillion future.
